SAVE TRANSLATE OUTFILE = "https:\\location.sharepoint.com"

Hello, my team has historically written output files from SPSS to SMB Shares. We've migrated to Sharepoint and it would be ideal if we could write out over https. Is this possible? If so how?

    Hi Support Member

Currently, that functionality is not part of IBM SPSS Statistics as it exists out of the box. Perhaps this is something your SharePoint administrator could help you with by giving you the location where your OS mounts the SharePoint resource.

IBM SPSS Statistics menus present the File menus from the perspective of the application. The application 'sees' only those resources that appear to be local to it. This is why mapped drives to SMB Shares work. Perhaps there is something similar for SharePoint.

Alternatively, the recent versions of IBM SPSS Statistics come pre-loaded with an IBM SPSS Extension Command to "Open data file from Internet location" (SPSSINC GETURI DATA) This extension will be found under the "File -> Open -> Internet Data" menus. Perhaps you could add to this Extension Command or re-work it to also Save to an Internet location.

Finally, IBM offers a mechanism for suggesting enhancements to the product here -- https://ibm-data-and-ai.ideas.ibm.com/

Offer your suggestion here and have your colleagues vote on it to increase it's visibility.

    I hope this helps,
