SAP BC 4.6 restart server problem

    I have a SAP BC 4.6 (IS 4.6 with SAP adapter)installed as a service on windows NT.
    When I restart the server from the browser based administration tool, the server stops, but does not restart.
    Is this known behaviour, can there be some system setting be wrong?
    Any comment is welcome!

    I’ve experienced this as well with IS 4.6 on NT. Review the server log to see if during restart that the server is failing to allocate the listening ports. I found that in NT that IS shutdown doesn’t release the ports, thus when it starts back up, the ports are taken. Unfortunately, I didn’t figure out a resolution other than a reboot–then I upgraded to XP and haven’t had the issue again.
