samba unable to lock file smbpasswd. Error was A system call received an interrupt

    In my samba environment, the smbpasswd file is from a NFS location that is shared to multiple servers and i am seeing the below message in the log.smbd and users are not able to access the shares. A reboot of the samba server also did not help. 

    Has anyone ran across this issue and any leads are appreciated.

      do_file_lock: failed to lock file.

      startsmbfilepwent_internal: unable to lock file /var/samba/private/smbpasswd. Error was A system call received an interrupt.
