    Can anyone list of SAMBA packages along with the dependencies that installed successfully please. I have a hard time assemble the correct list.

    Hi Dharma,

    I'm in the same boat, I was able to share the folder and access it from windows machine however I want to use mapped files and avoid having to enter files. 

    Did you get Samba working?

    Really not that much to it. 
    We use "yum install samba".
    We also use Centrify so that includes adbindproxy install
    Then add shares as requested.

    would you be able to share the sample copy of smb.conf? I don't touch open source configuration much and what we have in place for v3 samba isn't working for v4. Currently we have password server and security = server and that's no longer supported. Also I have swat running on port 910 and no longer there with v4.

    ​I would recommend to move your smb.conf file away and let Samba set up a default one. Then just test accessing the server

    Please let me know if you need a  smb.conf (lower version) for SMB 1.0. Most of it are the same except a few additions which you may not even bother.

    Thx for the response. I did new install and sharing worked but I had to enter a local account credentials. This all started because MS patch disabled SMB1.0 and made samba not work for some users. Now i'm looking to update it to samba-4.12.10. I copied the smb.conf that's working with v3.3.12.0 and tried to use that on the new install but it has some features that's been depreciated. such as using security=server and providing a password server. Now I uninstalled the samba and doing it fresh. Gonna follow their readme and see if i can get it going from scratch. Any help is appreciated.

    We had local AIX user account mapped to AD accounts and users didn't have to authenticate. I want to configure it back to that setup if possible. If not atleast have them use their AD account to authenticate.
