I did the yum update in my WPAR Version 7200-03-02-1846 from samba 4.6.16 to 4.9.3-1. Since this time I can't start the smbd daemon. Before samba was running without any problems.

Now I get in the log.smbd:

It's a big jump from 4.6.16 to 4.9.3. So some configurations might have changed in latest Samba.

Domain member setups require winbindd

running 'winbindd' now. The fallback that smbd directly contacts
