Hello, just wondering if its possible to get ldaps authentication working for samba 4 for users authenticated via Active Directory (AD) on AIX : Step by step instructions to integrate Active Directory 2016 in AIX via LDAP protocol ldaps works fine, we can authenticate users, all good.samba recognizes the users names, but we have to define another password for the users to manage at the moment. Is it possible to get samba to utilize the ad/ldap password?Found this on the samba site: Configuring LDAP over SSL (LDAPS) on a Samba AD DC - SambaWiki
We already have a pile of certs defined so that AIX can authenticate users, I'm hoping we can reuse those certs for samba? Thanks!
This has to be done in Samba AD DC (domain controller). Samba don't have DC support in AIX.
This is supported with Samba, there is no Samba DC support required for that. Have a look at my talk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JevcJ1_vbf0 and feel free to contact me if you need support.
