    Hi  @Susmitha Morisetti

I'm not sure which version you are, for me in r12 this seems to work. Once the OOB report is checked out, you click on the global filter and then on the left hand side, the compact Slicer Configuration panel will display, either right click and add current slicers to the filter or find another field to filter by.

    (right click)

If this doesn't help, send me which report you are working on and I can take a stab at it.

Hi Susmitha morisetti, typically when a report is checked out the report elements will have a yellow or green boarder, can you confirm the report is checked out? I didn't see that it was in the snap shot. If it is, you may need to refresh your browser and try again. See an example of the filter up above with the green boarder when checked out.

I'm not aware of any permissions with OOTB Reports either so this seems odd unless it is something new and I haven't come across it yet. We do not have the latest Version r12.4.0486b13b4e4b.74069 release, so my reports don't look like the reference project. In the link below it talks about both compact slicers, local and global. Currently I only see Compact slicers.. neither are distinguished. Maybe Apptio Support can help? You may want to put in a ticket with them.

    Compact slicers

    Two types of compact slicers

There are two types of compact slicers: Local and Global.

    Local

A local compact slicer has the same properties as a single slicer. It can use both locked and unlocked fields. Selections made in the slicers by users are not saved.

    Global

A global compact slicer has the same properties as a global filter.

    • Applies to all object-based tables and charts on a report.
    • Only fields locked to an object can be included in a global compact slicer.
    • Global compact slicers can include multiple fields. The fields must be from custom or application perspectives. You cannot use fields from the Data, Calculations, or Time perspectives.
    • Individual users can save their own global compact slicer filter settings.
    • Saved settings remain in place when the user logs out of the application and logs back in.
    • Changes made to a global compact slicer on one report apply to all reports that include the slicer.
    • Different global compact slicers can be added to different sets of reports.
    • If you email a report, the global compact slicer settings are saved with the report.

Note: Global compact slicers are intended to replace global filters. Whenever possible, use global compact slicers instead of global filters.

Susmitha morisetti Which report are you looking at? Depending on the report, the filter might've been created in a Master Report (which you can find under the Report section of TBM Studio and changing the view to "Master Reports"). And as with all customizations of OOTB reports, be sure you document the changes so you can re-create them (if needed) after upgrades.

Also, looks like you've posted this question in the FrontDoor Knowledge Base, for future questions on Cost Transparency, you can post them in the Cost Transparency Knowledge Base for a more targeted audience.

Susmitha morisetti Which OOTB report are you looking at and which filter are you looking to move/resize? What I'm suggesting, is that this report might be built of a "Master Report" (think of it like a template), which is where the filter would be configured (and not the report itself). You can see these Master Reports by changing your view in the Report section of Project Explorer from "All" to "Master Reports".
