  • 1.  RHEL 7 in place upgrade RHEL 8

    Hello

    One of our ILMT customer which ILMT (+BigFix ) is running on RHEL 7 which is going to be unsupported next year. They are planning if RHEL 7 / ILMT could be upgraded in place into RHEL 8. Do you know if there could be some problems either in ILMT or in BigFix ? 

    Versions : RHEL 7.9 , ILMT 9.2.33.0 , BigFix 10.0.10 , ILMT-DB2 11.5.8.0

    Hello Lasse,


    Are you planning to run an upgrade using leapp or similar process ?

    If you are planning to reinstall everything from scratch (clean install of RHEL 8) you theoretically could use the steps from Migrating the License Metric Tool server path :

    The problem is that reinstalling BigFix from scratch means a completely new environments (new BigFix Agents).
    In such case reusing old License Metric Tool database provides some issues (mainly duplicated computers).
