Rhapsody 10.0 cannot launch

    Hi,

    Tried to evaluate Rhapsody 10.0. Currently 9.01 Fix004 in use.

    Win10 22H2 (Build 19045.4046)

    The main window pops out, on top an error message "Failure", "Cannot create webview environment. (0x8007139F)".

    What is missing?

    Hi Alexander,

    the Microsoft® WebView2 Runtime is already a part of the Windows 11 operating system and the Windows 10 operating system with the latest service pack.

    Since you're running W10, I suppose it's an old distribution.

    Please try to install webview from here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/?form=MA13LH#download-section

    5 seconds later: Error "..Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime is already installed" [  free translation from German ]

    I am not sure how this thread arrived to me.

    Unfortunately I cannot help you, as I am running Rhp 10 (installed yesterday) under Windows 10, and I am not administrator of my machine, just a user.

    It wont fix it entirely but should allow you to launch the tool without the Welcome Page which we suspect is causing the launch issue because of this WebView issue

    As it states, set the SHOW_WIZARD_AT_STARTUP=FALSE in the Rhapsody.ini file in the Rhapsody or Program Data directory

    Then launch Rhapsody

    Hi Alexander,

    were you able to finally resolve your issue? 
    I discovered this thread as a helpful starting point for finding further solutions, as a customer of us recently ran into the same issue with v10.0.2 iFix001.
    A damaged installation of WebView2 seems to cause problems in many applications, even in Microsoft ones, like their Teams.

    I found two helpful instructions, the first one describes how to install new WebView2 binaries, the 2nd one to remove a previous installation, if the first one fails, because WebView2 is still installed:

    #1 install new WebView2 binaries:

    1. Go to https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2?form=MA13LH
    2. Download the Evergreen Standalone Installer
    3. Run the Installer as Administrator
    4. The Problem should be solved

    #2 remove old installation, if #1 fails, because it is already installed:

    Go to Registry Editor at the following location: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Clients\

    Delete {F3017226-FE2A-4295-8BDF-00C3A9A7E4C5}
    Then install WV2 following steps in #1. 

    Web Search for WebView2 problems will give you hundreds of similar results

    Found and fixed issue. It was copy'n paste mistake in environment variable TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE

    Some too long? invalid segment of variable caused crash

    Thanks for your feedback. 

    Interesting to hear, that this still happens to users from time to time. 
    I do now remember Rhapsody failing, because the content of the TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE variable exceeded a specific limit.
    This happened many many years ago... but I did not recall this anymore, until you brought it up now.
