Which is better, Rexx or Python?

For my final thesis to graduate, I'm doing a comparative study of Rexx and Python. I know this is a hot topic in the mainframe community, so that's why I would like to get input from this community.
I'll be performing a few PoC's, and see how both languages compare.
To do this successfully, I need to know what to compare them on.

That's why I made this very short form, so you can give your opinion, and I can make sure I'll be making a fair and community-approved comparison.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

Honestly, by my own experience on Mainframe, REXX works better off the shelf... I never coded nothing for Python to run straight on zOS, for example, but used a lot of REXX...
Think that REXX looks a bit like PHP on their constructions (or the other way round).
Python obviously is way more modern with all the packages and OOP and stuff, but REXX for Mainframe sounds a bit more mature solution
