  • 1.  Reuse a dashboard after refining a data set?

    Am I missing something here?
    Scenario is:
    1) I load a data set.
    2) I create a dashboard or explorations
    3) I realize I want to refine the data (e.g. create a new column based on existing columns)
    4) I want to continue building on my dashboard from #2 by using this new column.

    Hi,

When you create a refinement of a dataset, a new dataset is created which you can save.

If you would like to use the new columns that you have created, then you can simply add the new refined dataset to your dashboard.

    1. Create the refinement and save it.

    2. Open your existing dashboard and go into edit mode.

    3. Bottom left, click on the dataset icon (1010), look for the new dataset and select the new column and click on Add.

    4. The dataset will appear in the data tray.

You can now update your existing dashboard with the new refined dataset.

    Hope this helps.
