  • 1.  Retro-compatibility IIS-DS 11.7 to 11.5

    Dear all.
    our customer has two IIS-DS instances. One in 11.7 version and another in 11.5
    It asks us what kind of problems they may have when migrating and executing jobs created in the 11.7 environment in the 11.5 environment.

    Hi Javier,

    my expectation ist that only migrating jobs from 11.5 to 11.7 is supported. The other way may work but the are many changes in 11.7 that are not supported in 11.5.

    I suggest to upgrade the 11.5 instance to 11.7.

    Hi Javier,

    officially it is not supported to migrate DataStage jobs from a higher to a lower version and it is not recommended to do so. When using a DSX to migrate jobs you can always edit the following line in your DSX

       ServerVersion "*.*"

    to the one fitting your target. Going from a lower to a higher version is no problem as far as I know. There is not much new on the canvas when comparing 11.5 to 11.7 (compared to 8.1 to 8.5)

    Best would be to migrate your 11.5 to 11.7.

    Hi Javier,

    They should be migrating jobs from V11.5.x to V11.7.x to be on supported version.

    Based on this link, V11.5 already end of support on 2021-04-30.
