Retreive the last custom feild value

    Is there a way to write a script to retrieve the last value set to a custom field, let say I have a custom field named "Rep1" and I want to take the last value assigned to this filed previously and increment it by 1 and assign it to the new created one.

    Also the same for incident, how can i retrieve the last incident id created?
