I have the default configuration
CONVERSION_GUARD 2
RESTORE_POINT_DIR $INFORMIXDIR/tmp

Now how I can evaluate the space needed to store the restore point data ?
The database size is about 800 GB and I have 35 GB available for $INFORMIXDIR/tmp

Hi Sh,
we raised this question to HCL support last year, this is the formula they came with:
size of all reserved pages
+ size of all used partition pages in all dbspaces
+ the size of all system catalog tables in each database
+ in size of all logical logs which are not backed up at the time of the conversion
