Panel Discussion: Responsible Data Science in the Fight Against COVID-19

Last week, TWIML hosted a panel discussion on how data scientists can responsibly contribute to efforts around COVID-19. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we've seen an outpouring of interest among data scientists and AI practitioners wanting to help. At the same time, some of the resulting efforts have been criticized for promoting the spread of misinformation or being disconnected from the applicable domain knowledge.

Our four experts: Rex Douglass, Rob Munro, Lea Shanley, and IBM's Gigi Yuen-Reed, discussed this topic and shared valuable insight on the best ways data scientists can provide support and get involved. You can read more about our panelists below.

Have you been using your data science skills in the fight against coronavirus and COVID-19?

Please comment below. I'm also happy to answer any questions.

A big shout out to IBM for their support in helping to make this panel possible!
