It sounds like there is some javascript error, I'd check your browser log to see if there are any errors. Both of these operations load another js file the first time that you hit them, so I'd also check for file loading errors as well in case there is some problem downloading the additional script.
I'd imagine that this is fairly individual to your situation, so you may want to contact support directly.
