    Hello PAW Community,

I trust you are doing well. As an active user of IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), I've noticed some aspects in the recent versions that could benefit from a focus on work ergonomics.

Observation: During my usage, I've identified instances where adherence to general work ergonomics guidelines could significantly enhance the user experience. For example, the set editor interface occupies the full screen, leading to increased mouse or touchpad movements, and lacks keyboard shortcuts.

Suggestion: I would like to suggest that the development team consider incorporating general work ergonomics principles into the design. This might involve optimizing interfaces for reduced mouse movements, providing keyboard shortcuts for commonly used actions, and ensuring a consistent and user-friendly layout.

    Benefits:

    • Improved user efficiency and productivity.
    • Enhanced user satisfaction through a more comfortable and intuitive interface.

    Guidelines Worth Checking Out:
I want to share a couple of resources that could shine a light on best practices for ergonomic design in a web context:

    1. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 offer advice on making web content more accessible, which is essential for good ergonomic design.
    2. Google’s Material Design provides principles for intuitive design and interaction, specifically tailoring to different input methods.

Request: I kindly request the PAW development team to explore the integration of general work ergonomics guidelines in their design decisions for future releases. Adhering to these principles can contribute to a more user-friendly environment and a positive overall experience for all users.

I encourage fellow community members to share their thoughts and experiences related to work ergonomics in PAW. Together, we can advocate for enhancements that align with industry-standard guidelines.

Thank you for your consideration, and I'm hopeful for a fruitful discussion on this topic.

    Best regards, Asgeir
