Hi, For the select prompt there exists a property "text for deselect". If you clear it the deselect link/button disappears. For the search & select prompt the same property exists but obviousely without effect (12.0.1). So I also consider this as a bug.

Hi Marc,
yes, I used CA 12.0.4 and CA 12.1.1 for my tests. Both "worked" the same way.

@Robert Dostal - did you use a CA 12 version when you checked? If so I will raise a bug. Thanks.

HI Marc,
I would suggest to report a defect at IBM Support. I couldn't find a solution either except to deactivate the full interactive mode of the report to force Cognos to use the old version of the prompt.

I am never afraid to ask a silly question. This is today's puzzle.
I must admit that all the times I have used a search and select prompt it is usually for multiple values. Today is one of those days I need an optional single value search and select prompt.
Within Cognos 10 a such a prompt would look like this...

Being an optional prompt, the user could search and see what is available, they can click on something to select it. But if they no longer want to filter on Golf Equipment they can click the Deselect option to remove the Golf Equipment filter.
Here is what the same prompt looks like in the 11.2.3 Cognos Analytics prompts.

The user has accidentally selected Camping Equipment. How do they remove the Camping Equipment filter? There is no deselect option in the CA prompt.
(A work around is to search again. But I would say that is by accident more than intuitive design, unlike the C10 version of the prompt.)
Does this prompt look any better in 12.1.1?
