Replication not replicating

  • 1.  Replication not replicating

    Posted 17 hours ago

    Good day All

In need of assistance. I have this issue on replication. Replication not replicating from server 1 to server 2. both server is connected and active. if i check replication queue it clears but the data is not replicating from the one server to the other server.

Replicates is active and setup correctly.

Maybe i'm missing something any advice would be appreciated where to start looking for the issue

    Jaco:

What type of replication have you set up? Enterprise Replication (ER)? High Availability Data Replication (HDR), or Remote Secondary Server (RSS) replication?

If HDR post the output from "onstat -g dri"

If RSS post the output from "onstat -g rss"

If ER post the output from:

cdr list server <servername>   (for both servers)

cdr list repl -c <servername> full

We can try to help, but you have not provided enough detail about the problem.

    Hi Jaco,

on each of the two sites the replicate has a couple of bytes queued - is this stable over time, or even increasing?

Any chance you recently altered this table (wes_session) and the replicate still is in alter mode?

Can you post the output of  "onstat -g cat A_wes_session_A1" on each of these two servers?

    BR,
     Andreas

So how are you telling replication doesn't work - for this particular table, between those two servers, ... ?
What exactly are you seeing as not working?

Data entered on the one server does not replicate to the other server.

If you check the table on the other server the data is not the same as the first one.

what is in the ATS/RIS files ?  If this is non-prod change scope to row and see if anything get replicated ?  At the moment I suspect the whole Tx is rolling back

Not sure if still the case but if the ATS/RIS directories don't exist it used to silently fail on the ats/ris generation

    RRH Row:1 / Replicate Id: 536111 / Table: warms@dwafdba.wes_session / DbOp:Update

With TX scope, then AFAIK, you should get a ATS file

I think that looks good though, check all the others servers ?

That server (grp_15_gaut) does not replicate to any of the other servers. and on that replicate there is no ATS files

If the replicate is shown with a variable, non-zero queue on grp_15_gaut, this means the transactions do get sent to all the targets and must be failing/dismissed there which in turn would result in ats/ris files on those targets -> have you checked there?

The one ris file you showed is not for a failure, but rather an information about an update turned into an insert which then did get applied.
Unfortunately you didn't post the source and target info at the top of the file.
