What is the setting to remove CLOS_WAIT on an AIX 5.3.x server? The setting for tcp_keepidle = 600 half seconds (5 minutes) has already been set. But inspite of that some connections from the webserver port to the application server port stays in the CLOSE_WAIT state.

Is there any other TCP/IP tuning parameter that needs to be tuned to release these connections? This seems to be an issue since these connections stay in the CLOSE_WAIT state and hence causing file handlers exhaustion on the web server.

Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.
