  • 1.  Relative Date Issue in Data Modules: XQE-V5-0005 Identifier not found 'GregorianCalendar_csv.PY_TheDate'

    Posted Wed January 05, 2022 01:05 PM
    Hello,

Wondering if anyone has experienced and resolve an issue when using the IBM provided calendars for relative date analysis. When opening reports using a data module with relative dates I am seeing the following error:

RSV-VAL-0010 Failed to load the report specification. XQE-V5-0005 Identifier not found 'GregorianCalendar_csv.PY_TheDate'.

This happens with existing reports and new reports. What's strange though is I see the column in the data module. Also, the report does run properly. Frustrating to keep seeing that error message though.

    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Jeremy,

Have you set the _as_of_date global parameter correctly?
Here you will find how to do this: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.1.0?topic=date-setting-as-global-parameter

    Hi Rob,

I hadn't set that previously - I thought it would default to current date. But I did try setting that and still receive the error. I'm just happy the report does work.

    Hi Jeremy,
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

The following is closely related, but the scenario and symptoms are a bit different than what you're reporting.
When 11.1.7 released the Gregorian Calendar Data Module, it uses the identifier Page1_1
When 11.2.0 and newer were released, the identifier was changed to GregorianCalendar_csv.
We're working on putting a technote together on this topic.
Applications written with 11.1.7 can be corrected, by
    - going to the Data Module that defines the Gregorian Calendar.
    - Select the table object Gregorian Calendar
    - Select Properties->Advanced
    - Change Identifier from GregorianCalendar_csv to Page1_1.
The technote will also cover the other calendars, that also underwent changes to the identifier.
It will also cover how to deal with existing and new applications, i.e. those built with 11.2.*. This would come down to keeping two versions of the Calendar Data Modules, one using the 11.2.* identifiers and the other the 11.1.7 identifiers.

    Hi Henk,

Thanks for that info. In my case I did the following (we're on 11.2.1):
    • Opened the data module I created that references Gregorian calendar module
    • Selected the GregorianCalendar table > properties > advanced
    • Changed the identifier from Page1_1 to GregorianCalendar_csv.
That worked for me and report validated without error.

    Thank you again!

    Henk,

Thank you for this very useful information. Do you know when this technote will be available?
