  • 1.  Recommended value for "Restart Processor Attempts" registry key.

    Hi,
    According to this IBM Support page, Rulerunner Server will halt after a designated number of errors.
    This number is controlled by "Restart Processor Attempts" registry key.
    The default value is "3". Do you know the maximum value for this key?
    What value do you typically use? Do you have any tips and guideline for  "Restart Processor Attempts" registry key?
    I am not using "0". I'd like Server to halt after some errors, but not sure how many I should design.

    Hello Dsakai, 

    I don't think there is any recommended value to set since ever sites is different.  But in thinking about this, the default is 3 which means if you there is a aborted batch three time  in a row, it will shut down all your other threads ie your RR server.  You don't want that.  Ideally you don't want to see any aborted batch and should fix or understand why it's aborting.  If your batch process successfully than it doesn't count against the 3-abort setting.  

    So when a batch is aborted does it works the second time?  This setting only affects RR server if a batch abort 3 times in a row.

    Thank you Blue Devil,

    I don't want to see any error. But this was never case with Datacap, at least with Japanese recognition.

    I am putting the value to "9", so that in case of Infra glitch, Rulerunner Server can stop before throwing countless errors on Windows Event Logs.
