I am configuring drives for a DB211..5.8 database on a Windows-based Azure IaaS environment and would like guidance on the following:
-
Allocation Unit Size (Cluster Size):
- I am planning to format the drives for DB2 as follows:
- Data Files Drive (F:): Dedicated to storing DB2 data files.
- Log Files Drive (G:): Dedicated to storing transaction logs.
- Based on general best practices, I am considering using a 64KB allocation unit size. Could you please confirm if this is recommended for DB2, or suggest an optimal allocation unit size?
-
File System:
- Should we use NTFS or FAT for these drives?
If there are any IBM resources or documentation addressing these questions, kindly share the reference.
