Hi, we are trying to replace clsnmp (snmp tool from the AIX Expansion Pack) with net-snmp & net-snmp-utils (5.8-3) supplied by the AIX Toolbox for OSS, running on an LPAR with AIX 7200-05-04-2220. Every now and then we face timeouts while performing queries with snmpget. Performing the same queries on the same system for the same targets with clsnmp never fails (there are other reasons why we want to get rid of clsnmp). 
We increased the timeout up to 60 seconds but did not see a different behavior. 
Performing the same queries from a RHEL System within the same network works just fine (however the situation is not completely comparable due to different OS, different hardware (x86_64 vs ppc) and different version of net-snmp-utils (5.7.2)).
Attached two debug logs of snmpget, one with no issue, the 2nd one while facing the timeout.
Is there anybody facing the same situation or (even better) found a solution for this?

A small update to whom is interested: the issue seems to be version related (maybe in conjunction with AIX(7.2)?). After downgrading to net-snmp-5.7.3-1.ppc & net-snmp-utils-5.7.3-1.ppc and almost a month testing the timeouts did not occur again. Marking this topic as solved.
