RBD on Windows versus Linux - pro and con ?

    We currently use Windows 7 as development platform for RBD and cvs as repository, and we plan to move the development platform to Linux.

    Do anyone have pro/cons or recommandations regarding a move to Linux ? like what to do/ not do, speed, other tools needed, Linux versions, memory needs, cvs integration, developer education etc....
