In v11, access by users could be managed between projects.  In other words, I could grant access to an Admin user for CT and grant access to an Admin user for another project, by creating and using the custom role of Admin Non CT.  The purpose of this was to ensure that we had Admin users that could fully function within their own projects but were unable to view sensitive data within the CT project.  In r12, this separation does not exist.  If you have access to TBM Studio, i.e. Admin user, you can view all projects within our environment.  

Has anyone had an issue with this or been able to find a way to work around?

Front door was actually upgraded on October 16th and you can now make groups of projects. From my understanding this means you could create groups and give access accordingly. Thus, your CT project could be in a separate group to your other projects and then in turn you can control access when grating users access. You would need to ensure you give them access to the correct group of projects. I still need to test this but based on the release notes it seems accurate:

Thank you so much for the information.  With the exception of Datalink and Interactive Benchmarking, all of our projects are listed under the Cost Transparency Application.  This looks promising if there was a way to create a group based on the projects within the same application.  Thank you again,

Are you talking about branches?

No, these are actually separate projects that contain separate datasets, transforms, reports, etc and have separate Admin and End Users.  They would never be combined with our true CT project.  Does that make sense?  One of the projects was set up by Apptio prior to CT.  The CT project and this project did share data, but that sharing ability goes away in r12.  Without the Shared Data project, these projects are completely independent of one another. Apptio engineers and technical teams are aware of our issue, but I thought someone in this forum may have had this issue in the past.  

That is a very interesting use case. I would love to know what the resolution is when you get one.
