Do you mean the partition as an LPAR on which Linux ppc64le and PowerVC are installed? If so, yes, LPM should be possible via the HMC.
If you mean an LPAR that is managed by PowerVC, LPM is also possible for example via PowerVC GUI (by Migrate button), as long as the requirements are fulfilled (described in the documentation: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/powervc-cloud/2.2.1?topic=machine-migration-requirements).

    hi, Michal Wiktorek

    Thanks for your reply.

Let me clarify my previous question. The source server is an E870c, which has four Vioc LPARs deployed: three AIX partitions and one PowerVC (Red Hat Linux) partition.

The PowerVC (Red Hat Linux) partition on the source server (E870C) can be migrated to the target server E980 using LPM, right?

As long as the PowerVC LPAR fulfills all the requirements of LPM, you can use LPM to move it, same as any other AIX/iOS/Linux LPAR.

    Hi,

yes, you can either run just a LPM Validation for that PowerVC Rhel LPAR on the HMC to see if any issues appear (SAN/NPIV, Network) or all looks ok or without a HMC you can at least use the FLRT Site with the LPM check: https://esupport.ibm.com/customercare/flrt/lpm to see if your LPM from POWER8 to POWER9 is in general ok ( regarding VIOs Level, FW etc.)

    Greetings

    H

Yes , if the prerequisites for LPM are configured and successful PowerVC partition itself can be migrated to another server using Live Partition Mobility (LPM)

    Check below IBM link

    thanks
