  • 1.  Python Error after successful DNF installation on AIX 7.1

    I was able to get the DNF_aixtoolbox.sh to run successfully. However when I run /opt/freeware/bin/dnf update I get the following error

    root@dolph:/opt/freeware/bin>./dnf update
    Fatal Python error: _Py_HashRandomization_Init: failed to get random numbers to initialize Python

    Not of the whole path that needs to be setup, and i installed openssl-1.1.1.1202 prior to the dnf_aixtoolbox.sh script run.
    This is for AIX 7.1 new install. ultimately, i need to install perl and other packages, of course.
    I tried setting PATH=$PATH:/opt/freeware/bin:/opt/freeware/etc:/opt/freeware/lib as well with no success.

    We have not seen this issue before. 
    Can you please share output of rpm -qa and also tell what version of AIX you are using.
    Please expect some delay in response due to holidays.

    HI. The problem was there are 3 Ifixe's that need to be applied to the base 7.1.4 OS release. I chose to go to 7.1.4.5-XXX and it solved my issue. The IBM lady put in a reply on the original thread.
