Hello! Have a quick question regarding the checking out and in of files.
Have a lot of map source files checked into PVCS last year. This was done directly in PVCS, before the Map Designer interface was working. The PVCS software was on a share drive so it was not installed locally and Map Designer cound not find the tool.
That has been corrected as PVCS is now installed locally and the registry was updated, so PVCS appears as a select option in Map Designer now.
The question is, have checked out the files from last year to a checkout folder, but these files have been changed in another folder, looking for a way to fake out the check in so that the files can be checked in from the new work folder.
Have been trying to check them in from this new work folder but the Check In option is grayed out in Map Designer, this new folder has the correct path for the type trees, whereas the checkout folder just has the map source files.
The files are locked upon the initial checkout and it creates a mercscc.scc file in that folder which looks contains information about the PVCS project and check out folder path.
Can the check in from a different folder be completed, would rather not change the checked out map to incorporate the application changes, there must be some way to check in the already changed maps from a different folder.
Have tried deleting the map in the check out folder and copying it in from the new work folder, but that does not work as all the relative tree paths are not correct.
Hopefully someone has run into this issue previously.
Would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks!
