I am testing out the functionality of the contracts tab because I would really like to use it for our ongoing agreements. My issue is we get asked periodically about our total cash spend, both historical and forecasted. From the contracts tab, I don't see where the big one time payments flow through Apptio. The amortization does. But if I spend $100K in June and it's amortized over the 12 months, I want to be able to include that $100K in my cash analysis with the CapEx dollars and OpEx dollars. The outlay doesn't show up in the summary tab or when I publish to cost transparency. And if I choose to "Extend" that contract, I want to see the annual amount as part of my spend analysis.I am guessing this will take a special custom Cost Transparency report. Or it's right under my nose and I just am not seeing it.

Just a clarifying question to see if I am understanding correctly. You want to see a lump sum of 100K hitting and you want to see the amortization MoM? If not, can you please give a MoM example of what you are trying to achieve so I can see if we can accommodate that?

Correct and if it is an extended contract, I would like to see that $100K every year if it is renewed annually. Also, the amortization.

The way you can do that now is by adding an additional line for the contract with the lump sum in it. Thus, you would have two lines for each contract. One where you have the lump sum and one with the amortization included. You would just have to be aware what accounts you put it to and that you are not double counting anything you do not want to.

The Vendor Insights module also provides the Cash view of contractual spend and can be used in conjunction with contracts tab to provide both the cash and amortized spend amounts.

The Contract Plan section of the Contract Summary report may be useful. I can probably duplicate it and a year timeframe so I can see multiple years next to each other. Still would like to see total spend in one place which would be Contracts+Capex+everything else. And look at that year over year.
