Public Cloud Potential Savings (Azure)

  • 1.  Public Cloud Potential Savings (Azure)

    Hi,

We have imported the AWS Trusted Advisor Report, to light up the Potential Savings Report for AWS.

My question is - does Azure have a similar report that can be brought in too?

We currently have Azure data coming through on the Multi-cloud connector.

    Thanks,

    Martyn

Hi Martyn.  Yes, Azure has their "Azure Advisor" which is the same type of information.  In your Datalink "New Connector" area, you will see there is a connector for it.  In my opinion, it took a bit more configuration on the Azure side, but there is an article here (Microsoft Azure Advisor Connector Guide ) that details how to do it.  When we were setting ours up, I got on a call with our Azure admin and walked through it.  It was much easier that way for us.  Now, because we have multiple Azure tenants, we had to create a table for each, then append them to the Azure Advisor Raw table.  Hope this helps!

@Candace D'Amour ... the community article you refer to suggests using MultiCloud Connector for R12.6 and later (which we are). However, the MultiCloud Connector config article has nothing about ingesting Azure Advisor data.

Have you configured both MultiCloud Connector as well as a separate Azure Acvisor connector? ... or are you using the Azure Legacy connector to ingest usage details?

Hi JJ.  When you click on "New Connector" in the Datalink module, you will see a specific icon for Azure Advisor.  We had to set it up at the tenant level, which is much more detailed than setting up the MCC.
