  • 1.  Processor Unavailable error

    Posted 10/15/20 04:51 PM

I'm running SPSS 27 on a MacBook Pro running the Catalina OS. While running certain very simple computational processes, after 5-10 minutes, I'm getting the error "An unknown error has terminated communication with the processor. The SPSS Statistics Processor is unavailable." This has occurred for me when running certain time series features, such as smoothing and lags.

I can run some other commands without a problem. I have uninstalled and downloaded a new version.

Thanks for your suggestions for how to fix this.

    Regards,

    Bob Davis

    Hi Support Member

Is this behavior specific to your data or the specific computation/transformation you are trying to do?

If you can replicate this behavior using one of the Sample data sets and supply detailed steps you use in the UI (or specifically the SPSS command syntax generated by the UI) -- that would go a long way toward helping us to diagnose and resolve the issue you are having.
