Im having some problems with the KC on Ubuntu.

If I try to use firefox it hangs, and produces  at least three exceptions

    Exception { name: "NS_ERROR_FAILURE", message: "", result: 2147500037, filename: "https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js", lineNumber: 395, columnNumber: 0, data: null, stack: "getInstance/e<@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:395:339386\ngetInstance@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:395:339685\n@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:395:339696\nr@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:1:110\n@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:1:902\n@https://www.ibm.com/docs/index_bundle.js:1:913\n" }

If I try using Firefox it displays OK, but has other exceptions

and I cannot get "feedback to work".  it just hangs - this might be a firefox problem....

Ive taken the URL it used using email address ibmdocs@us.ibm.com.
Please can you tell me if the feedback arrives.   I raised some comments a while ago( 6 + months) asking if someone from ID could tell me when they received it, as I felt the comments were going into a black hole, I didnt hear back from them.

My original question was ... what stub do I need to use for a batch program in 64 bit mode using xplink... One page tells me for 31 bit mode, and another page tells me about xplink, and another page tells me about using LE.

    thank you

    Colin

I can't answer your KC question - I always just use the online version. Hopefully someone from IBM will answer that.

However, your linkage question, I can answer.

I believe you need to use hlq.SCSQDEFS(CSQBMQ2X) as documented in Building 64 bit C applications

I suspect you have seen this page already given your question. I also suspect the piece of information you are missing is that LP64, i.e. 64-bit C programs are ALWAYS XPLINK. So there is no with XPLINK and without XPLINK as there is in the 31-bit case. See statement in Description of compiler options > XPLINK | NOXPLINK which says:-

Note: In LP64 mode, the only linkage supported is XPLINK

    Cheers,
    Morag

    Hi Colin,

I've forwarded your question about the KC problems to our docs team so hopefully they will be able to shed some light on it.

    Cheers, Matt

    Hi Colin,

I see that Morag answered your XPLINK question. I'll update the docs so they are clearer on this usage. I'll post again here when the updates are visible.

For  IBM Documentation on Firefox/Ubuntu, we checked with the IBM Documentation development team. They said this: "Currently IBM Documentation supports FF on Win and Mac. It might work on Ubuntu but is not supported." I forwarded your detailed observations to them, as input to any future work they might do in this area.

    Hi Barry,

Thanks for looking into this and getting back to me. It is was I thought.  Windows and Mac are used within IBM, we'll support those.
I would have thought Firefox would be common across the platforms, so I am surprised it works on Windows.

I expect it will be too big a change to change the content so it is supported on other major problems.

Time to dig out my old laptop and using Firefox from there.

    regards

    Colin
