Problems with Partial Least Squares Regression in SPSS Statistics 27 (MAC)

  • 1.  Problems with Partial Least Squares Regression in SPSS Statistics 27 (MAC)

    Posted Sat August 15, 2020 09:56 PM

Hi, I have successfully installed python and NumPy and SciPy but unfortunately when I run the PLS analysis I don't see any date. Ill I see is this command:

PLS UI MLEVEL=N REFERENCE=LAST WITH EE

    /CRITERIA LATENTFACTORS=6.

Does someone have a clue what could be wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi Support Member

Are you certain you are running " IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0 On-Prem" and not "IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription" for macOS? The latter has had an Interim Fix produced and available from Fix Central:

    http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/quickorder?product=ibm%2FInformation+Management%2FSPSS+Statistics&fixids=SUB-IM-STATC-MAC-1461-IF001&source=SAR

But again, this fix was for Subscription, not the Statistics 27.0.

If you are in fact using IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0 for macOS, I'd suggest you revisit your steps for installing the external Python, numpy, scipy, and then pointing to that external Python within the Statistics client.

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLVMB_27.0.0/statistics_mainhelp_ddita/spss/base/idh_idd_pls_variables.html

    I hope this helps!
