I was wonering what is the best way to confirm my suspision, if any. and how and where can i see why the controller or hd on that controller are not comming up?

    IBM P Eseries server with AIX 4.3 on it.

    using smitty you can check the current state of the RAID. You can check if one of their members is failed, if so then you can place a cal to IBM HW support, get the disks and replace it before another disk goes down. Of course you have to take backup of your data cause your system is now at danger.

    I don't have an AIX system at hand now but you can also use diag command to check RAID devices.
