I tried to install WTX on my workstation to test and it worked.

I have installed the interim fix 02 and I'm running under WTX 8.2.0.4. The server is a virtual server running under windows 2003.

Could you suggest me something as for the moment, the only way I found to restart the systems is to restart the whole service... and this is not very friendly...

    Thank you in advance.

I'm not on 8.2, but I can't imagine it changed that much, at least the launcher process.

Actually, I already granted the full access to my user, as you can see in the screenshot attached. I think there is something else I did wrong or a bug somewhere...

In order to be sure it was not an access problem, I created and tried with a user local admin. And to exclude the network issue, I launched the Management Console directly on the server and connected to "localhost".
However, I checked with the system admin and he confirmed there were no policies applied on this dev/test server.

    Thank you for helping me.

The only things I can think of are either you're hitting the wrong port if you have multiple instances of installed, or....well that's it I guess.

As you know, this isn't rocket science.

You log onto the launcher box, set your enviroment varibles under the correct install directory
($ . setup on Unix), run launcheradmin, add a user, give them rights, save and start launcher on that port (launcher.sh -start 5025. Create the instance of the server in managerment console by supplying the IP to the launcher box, the port defined in launcheradmin (5025 in my example), use the same user/password you set up in launcheradmin, and connect.

Managment console uses two "listen ports" defined in launcher admin; one is to pass info from the launcher to managment consloe, the other is to pass commands to launcher to stop/start/pause/resume/....

Yes, it is exactly my problem.

I have only instance of the WTX Event Server.

"Managment console uses two "listen ports" defined in launcher admin; one is to pass info from the launcher to managment consloe, the other is to pass commands to launcher to stop/start/pause/resume/...."

I think you're right, I can use the first one as I can see the status of the systems (if they are running or not) but I can not control them.

Would you know how I can retrieve the port use to pass the info from the launcher to the management console ? I'm working under Windows 2003.

    Thank you very much !

When I'm trying to establish a connection on 5016, there is an answer. That means something is listening on 5016. If I'm stopping the WTX with Launcher service, I can not telnet anymore the port 5016.

There is something strange. When I'm using the Launcher Monitor tools, I can not see the running systems whereas when I'm trying to do the same, on another server where everything is working correctly, I can see the running systems with the PID, etc...

Is there an additionnal service to install/start or only IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.2 Launcher ?

Do I have to install a special component for the systems control ?

    Thank you in advance.
