Do have any insight into what may have happened between the last time your product launched and the next time when it failed to launch? What kind of analysis were you doing at the time? Did it fail? Were there errors or warnings? Did the application itself just crash?
Turning off your Mac should have ended any hung processes and resolved your issue if that were a problem.
Uninstalling and Re-installing should definitely have resolved any programmatic (installation) issues -- provided it was a 'clean' install and you don't have some corrupted configuration or preferences file still there.
