Prevalence From Survey Data

    Hi! How is prevalence calculated from a large dataset with multiple questions? For example, if I was screening for food security I would ask multiple questions to determine the score of food security. Would I take the percentage of people who answered "Yes" for each question and take the averages? Not sure if this is just a descriptive stats question or something else in SPSS. Thanks!
