I am trying to repurpose a 750 Express server and HMC. The HMC has been installed from schratch and trying to do the same with the 750; in order to do a factory reset with HMC / ASMI I need the original password which I do not have. Other Power 7 machines have dip switches on mainboard for this reset, 750 Express appears not to. No option to do it in the manual console either (as in Power 8 function 73). This machine is being used in a teaching environment.

Any help appreciated, I have searched the documentation and the web to no success,

Hi thanks for this but: 

1.  I dont have IBM support!

 2. The service processor on this box i integrated to the mainboard and there are not two dip switches as on the ones with removable SP.

I did figure it out though see original post. 

Do you menan it is not possible to select function 73 from the control panel (Manual mode and machine powered off) ?

Try removing the button battery for some minutes

 No, function 73 seems to have come with Power 8. I did find a microscopic dip switch though that did the trick.

Well the secret for the 750 Express seems to be that there is onedip switch on the system board. Turn off and IPL no change; turn back on and IPL all is reset.
