    My AIX 5.3L is installed with an oracle 10g R2. For some reason, the oracle listener port, default 1521, was duplicated during last couples days. When that occured, other Oracle services, such as EM or SQLplus mode window won't function due to the confusion of duplicated port number. Somehow Oracle allowed such set up (I need to find out why on this). But on other hand, why the AIX fundamentally allows the same port been assigned to the same service? should the AIX OS deny the other service using the same port number?
