Hi,

you have a port of iperf 2 for AIX 7.2 but it looks like it's fallen out for AIX 7.3.  in any case, it's being actively maintained and there are several very important features it has that which desirable and these are features that iperf 3 lacks.  namely, iperf 2 will multi-thread across processors and NICs (if the NICs are setup the right way) which allows for testing of LACP (802.3ad) in ways that iperf 3 cannot. 

to be clear iperf 2 and iperf 3 are not really generational projects, rather, 2 has things that are desirable that 3 does not have and 3 has things that 2 doesn't have that might be desirable to some (but not me at the moment).

in short, we would really appreciate it if you would update your iperf 2 offering in the repo to the latest and maintain it.  here's the source code:

Hi Michael,

We never had iperf2 on AIX toolbox ? 
From where did you install iperf2 on AIX ? 
If this is an rpm can you check "rpm -qi <pkg>"

Hi Sanket,

Oops.  You're right it was Perzl.  So, I'd like to nominate the current version be ported and put in the toolbox.  As I mentioned above it super handy for testing multi-interface network configurations.  In fact, it is super handy where iperf3 is actually totally useless by design so I consider iperf 2 to be a critical tool for us.
