    Hello,

     

    In addition to submitting an idea to allow PAfE automatic update for end users, I would appreciate IBM and community comments regarding PA conformance.

    PAW and PASS updated regularly by IBM on PA cloud.

    IBM guidelines are to ensure versions of PAfE, PAW, PASS, and TM1 are in conformance with one another.

     

    1. The process of updating PAfE version requires customer-side maintenance that can be avoid by Automatic update process.

    Is there any plan to allow auto update for PAfE?

    1. TM1 version updates done by IBM just on customer request – IBM does not implement their conformance guidelines.

    Is there any plan to allow TM1 version updates to keep PA conformance?

    PA for Excel is working towards reduced friction of versions and more enterprise addin control systems. The single file deliverable in SC65 was the first key step in that journey. User Agent/TM1 thread context improvements (SC66/68) and the version 'status' control system (SC73) were additional steps. We're working towards delivery control of the addin file itself, but in the meantime there are already customers providing an 'evergreen' PA for Excel to their users today - example: by hosting the  (sc65+) xll on a network share (which the users launch from), creating a single point of update for an administrator; there are other ways to achieve similar effects as well.

    Thank you for your detailed respond.

    an 'evergreen' PA for Excel solution should work in case users launch PAfE as a shortcut.

    Did this solution works also when PAfE added to Excel? Can xll file be replaced on the shared folder while file in use by several users?

     

    Can you address the question regarding TM1 server conformance on PA cloud?
