  • 1.  PA Agent problem on new instance

    Posted Thu May 16, 2024 02:27 PM

    I have a local PAW 2.0.95 up along with the PA Agent updated to this version as well.  Existing TM1 instances are all working just fine.  I created a completely new TM1 instance and find that when I try to use the File Manager in PAW against it, I get an error message saying 'The administration agent needs to be upgraded for this server'.  I can access File Manager on all the other TM1 instances I have running, it's only this new one.  They are all running on the same box.  Anyone else seeing this issue?  Again, this is a local install.

    Hi Dean,

    Please see: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=2095-enhancements-file-manager

    You need to download the PAA Agent update from the PAA user interface (in PAW 2.0.95) then install the PAA update on the system running TM1.

    Thanks Stuart but as mentioned in my original post, this was already done.  I have 6 other TM1 instances running, all are able to access/use the File Manager except for this new instance I spun up.  Outside of the model_upload folder, are there other folders/files that must be in place for the Agent/PAW to interact with an instance?

    I should have read more carefully!  You don't actually need to create the model_upload directory.  The PAA Agent will check for the model_upload directory and create it if it doesn't exist.

    All 6 TM1 databases are on the same system?

    Did you make any customizations to your bootstrap.properties file (if so can you share)?

    Yes, all 6 TM1 databases are on the same system.

    I did make a change to the bootstrap.properties file for this one line:

    com.ibm.ws.logging.console.log.level=ERROR

    Attempting to capture more info with my error I was encountering.  No other changes were made.
