Is there a way to create a report to identify the over allocation in all the models? Please advise @Jenny Franklin or anyone.....

    Hi Rohit,

For Cost, DevEx, etc. we have corresponding metrics with the formula "=Cost − LookupObjectTotalAllocated(Cost)" if you put this in Ad Hoc Configuration at each level (i.e. Cost Source, Vendor, Labor, Projects) with columns from those datasets you should see anything that's unallocated. For instance at Cost Source, we have the table columns Account, Cost Center, Journal Line Description, and then the metrics Cost, and Unallocated Cost. In the filter line of Unallocated Cost metric we have ">0". At the Vendor level it's Vendor ID, Name, and the metrics and so on. Each level of the model has it's own tab on the report.

I would love to hear if someone has a more efficient way to identify these unallocated costs than having to click through each tab for the first several days of each month.

Thanks for replying. Just to clarify, I'm looking for over‑allocation, not unallocated $$'s or fallouts-specifically to identify whether dollars are being allocated twice (duplicated) from one model into other models.

    Rohit,

This is for model fallout, but there might be a way to manipulate to see over allocations. But I am able to see all objects on the same table.

I played around with the instructions some more and I think you can pull over-allocations and unallocated dollars. I got it to work on my report. Follow the instructions through Step 8, but also add assigned and absolute value. Once you have those two data points, you can insert a formula from the data ribbon that subtracts one from the other.

Thank you Jason and Dan!!  Apologies for missing this, Rohit!  Jason's fix is what I would have done as well :-)
