First, please consider AIX 5.2 is well past the End of Support date and you are asking a question about AIX 5.2 on an IBM website.

Second, you do not report what ML / TL / SP of AIX 5.2 you are using.

Third, you do not report what rights your "normal user" has.

Forth, you do not report if your "normal user" account has SU enabled.

Fifth, if you have chmod'ed /etc to 777 then you have probably broken your system and you should either restore your last good backup or reinstall the system because this was a very stupid thing to do.

1. We have all level of AIX os because we need to test our product will support on all level of aix servers.

2. # instfix -i | grep ML
All filesets for 5.2.0.0_AIX_ML

All filesets for 5200-03_AIX_ML

3. All non root users are have normal staff group and user access.

4. SU has been enabled for ALL to ALL

5. I am only the admin to using the root. I know how critical to use /etc 777 execution. I has been changed automatically changed 4 days before i don't know whether it is virus. i also check in some forums (non IBM forums) some of the users were faced same error.

Kindly help to solve the issue.
