I would like to get the most information (including especially replication process) about system OS/390 and XML database Tamino.

Is there any special, useful Tamino Documentation on OS/390?

I just have got very small documentation of OS/390 and Tamino 3.1.1 which includes ONLY:

1) Installation and Getting Started Introduction
Installation

2) Reference
Operating Guide
Glossary

3) Infrastructure
SMARTS

Is there available Tamino documentation for OS/390 which can be similar like to Unix or Windows systems?

So, I just need to get information for Tamino on OS/390 about:
1) APIs (very important!)
2) tool for definition schema TSD3 (Tamino Schema Editor)
3) tool for fast loading data (Tamino Interactive Interface, Tamino Data Loaders)
4) tool for administrator (Tamino Manager)
5) Migration User Guide,
6) Backup Guide,
7) Replication Guide.
9) X-Tension, X-Query User Guide, X-Node.

Any help will be appreciated.

The documentation on the mainframe only covers the the mainframe portions such as its installation and SMARTS stuff. The SDK, client tools like schema editor run on Windows platforms therefore I believe you get a second CD with Tamino for mainframes with the normal documentation.

You mentioned replication, but this is only available with Tamino v4.1.

So it means that for OS/390 there are NOT available any tools and SDK?

How can I do the following things on OS/390:
1) creating database,
2) starting database,
3) defining schema (TSD3),
4) loading schema into database,
5) loading data into database,
6) executing query to database,
7) stoping database Tamino,
8) making backups database.

Hi Dariusz,

Sorry I’m no mainframe Tamino expert. From my understanding the Tamino installation installs Tamino server, XTS DS and SMH (the Tamino manager components) on the mainframe. So you can simply use your browser and use the Tamino Manager in the same way as you do on Windows. For the other tools like Schema Editor these are just Java applications communicating to the Tamino server via HTTP so you can run these anywhere.
