    We had to 'step back' to 8 series connections, but as we patch other issues, we are asked to 'move forward' to upgraded adapters.

    Current adapters for 7.5.1 and up are native Oracle (32 bit) and ODBC. You can use the JAVA type adapters to create your own connection JMS etc. but you will see a performance hit with JAVA.
    Best connection is with the native 9i adapter.

    BTW, on some OS', JAVA can outperform C++, so that is why I asked about the OS.
