That said, in the past two years, I have had no requests from these same two customers (despite me asking) for DCE even though they are both deploying new servers. I took this to mean that HP changed their requirements.

I would highly recommend discussing this with HP.

I used a lot at OV components at my previous job and DCE was an AIX prereq for ITO, and for some others as well if memory serves. I can't remember now what OV needs that causes this but it's no big deal, the filesets you need should be on the AIX install media.

FYI, this is a V7 thing. The V8 docs indicate there is another agent now that does not require DCE.

FYI Jim - the required DCE components are cheap, but it is seperately licensed from IBM Software Group.
