    as openssl 1.1.1 is ulitmately available for aix,  is the aixtoolbox already FULLY functional with this new version so we can upgrade our lpars without risking the usual disaster?

    The AIX toolbox packages are compiled using openssl v1.0.2.
    New AIX openssl provides 1.1.1, 1.0.2 and older openssl in the archive library.
    Hence the packages should be able to find the required library and there should not be a problem.
    No existing libraries are removed from the archive but new 1.1.1 is added. We have done basic testing and things are working fine.
