  • 1.  One-way repeated measures MANOVA + Mixed Effects Model (MEM)

    Dear all,
I saw on IBM website that if I have a MIXED DESIGN study with four Dependent Variables (I'm using six scales) I could not use MIXED MANOVA on SPSS. IBM says it is because the MIXED procedure will only allow A SINGLE dependent variable (DV), either in the dialog box or in a syntax command. (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/manova-or-mancova-analysis-available-mixed-procedure-spss)
As of SPSS 15, it is not possible to run a MANOVA in the MIXED procedure I will run a One-way repeated measures MANOVA on SPSS. However I need to confirm with you if WILL REPEATED MEASURES MANOVA allow 2 OR MORE dependent variables (DVs) either in the dialog box or in a syntax command? Or you would do some recomendation? I'm also planning to run a Mixed Effects Models (MEM) after.
    • My study design combines both unrelated between-subjects (treatment vs treatment) and within-subjects factors (three points time). I have 6 DVs (continuous/ six scales) and 1 categorical predictor (meditation) with 2 levels or conditions.
    Thank you very much .
    With best wishes,
    Diana

Several years ago, Ryan Black posted some examples of how to estimate a multivariate (i.e., multiple DV) model via MIXED.  Here is one of those posts:

    Hi @Diana Brito,

Are you referring to IBM SPSS Statistics or IBM SPSS Modeler? This forum is for issues with SPSS Statistics, which is now on version 30.0.0 (version 15 shipped in 2006). SPSS Modeler 15 was released in 2012, but that too is long past support.

    Best,
